About Sunset Divers

Welcome to our family, and welcome to the wonderful sport of scuba diving. I have been diving for nearly twenty years and love the sport as much now as I did when I first got started. I have lived and worked as a scuba instructor in Grand Cayman, St John, and Costa Rica and enjoy the travel part of scuba diving more than anything.

I am an avid underwater film maker as well as photographer. I have two young sons and I can’t wait to get them underwater with me. My favorite dive sites are Curacao (Harry’s Hole), the Galapagos Islands, Cocos Islands, Fiji, and British Columbia.

Bon Bini and welcome to the friendly island of Curacao. I moved to Curacao in June 2004 from Denver, Colorado and absolutely love it here. I initially got certified for a trip to Hawaii. After the first few minutes of breathing on SCUBA I was hooked and knew that I wanted to become an instructor.

I am currently a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. I love teaching Open water and Discover Scuba Diving, I love the excitement that new divers experience when introduced to the underwater world for the first time. I have been traveling the caribbean and think that Curacao has some of the best reefs out there. I can't wait for you to visit and dive with us!

My Name is Carsten ( you can call me captain) I was born in Holland in 1975 and came to lovely Curacao in 2002. I became a licensed Captain and PADI Divemaster shortly after that. I have worked for a few dive shops on the island but found my true diving family at Sunset Divers.

I have three beautiful Daughters named, Jaylynn, Kaya and Zion they live with their mother in Holland. If you want to know what's hot or not on the island just ask me or my brother/wingman Rick, and we will be happy to refer you to all the "Hot spots". Have a good flight, see you on the boat or under a palm tree!

I am originally from a small village in Holland. My wife and I bought a sail boat in Turkey and Sailed to this beautiful island that we know call home.

I am currently working on my PADI divemaster so that I can play underwater as well as captain the boat. Ask me to tell my penquin joke, but you have to have a joke to tell as well.

Hey, just another Coloradan in Curacao! As a scuba instructor of 19 years, I have seen a lot of exotic places. Curacao is on my top 5 list, so when I got a chance to work with some of the old crew from Colorado, I jumped at the chance. In addition to the mountain guys, (Mike Day, Lynn, and Rick) Carl, Carsten and Kurt make this international crew the best I've ever worked with.

My specialty is equipment repair and sarcasm. The sarcasm is included in your dive package. I have a reputation as lucky with the big critters, last time I was here we had whale sharks, Manta rays and even a Manatee! Betcha a beer that I've caught a bigger fish than you have!

I was born in Colorado and have spent the last 7 years traveling and capturing the essence and beauty of the underwater world on film. I came to Curacao in 2005. I fell in love with the island, the people and the diving. I plan on staying here a long time.
